It's surprising that anything got done today - I was glued to the TV all morning and then watched the replays on the news! You can say what you like about our country but we do know how to put on a good show when it matters. The whole event was magnificent. In these dour times it was quite uplifting. I had a little printed and painted quilt that needed its binding hemmed down so I made myself comfortable and just wallowed!
You are so right about the uplifting spirit of the wedding. It was elegant, but not stuffy. I was struct by how at ease and happy the couple appeared as opposed to Lady Di and Charle's wedding. I love the dresses!!! I kept thinking about the scraps and how beautifully they would dye up. Have a beautiful weekend.
ReplyDeleteI was there right along with you -- got up at 2:45 a.m. to see the arrivals at the Abbey and just kept watching. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, a beautiful dress, but I missed some emotions. Have you seen the wedding of Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maximá? There was real emotion with Adios noninos.
ReplyDeleteBut the dress of Kate (sorry Catherine) was beautiful! And it is always good to see a very positive "show" on tv.
Oh that's funny I was binding a quilt for my Mum that I have put off finishing for ages!!
ReplyDeleteI too joined the millions on Friday morning. My daughter came home for a royal wedding sleepover and we joined neighbours at 4am for the event.
ReplyDeleteYou Brits really know how to do it. We in the colonies (Canada loved every minute including the wild hats. The rest of the day was spent with bleach discharge and clothespins. ;0)
